Dear Parents,

No school next week for students.  The school will only be open on Monday for in-person conferences from 7:30 to 2:30PM. Most parents have already met with the classroom teachers, however, if you have not scheduled an appointment or if you do not know your child's virtual conference location - please meet us in "thorpoffice" on Monday and we will direct you to the right conference space.

Covid tests were sent home with your child. Please test them on Sunday, November 27th before returning to school. During the week, we will all take time to enjoy the holiday with our family and friends.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Cross Country News

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 5TH AND 6TH GRADE CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS! The Boys won 2nd place and The Girls got 1st place. Well done!

Cold Weather Update:

Families, please send your children to school with warm outerwear!  We are outside for recess any day when the temperature is 20 degrees or above. 

Speaking of which, ‘tis the season of snow and wet weather  Accidents happen and we are always in need of clothing - especially sweatpants and joggers.  If you have some gently used pants that your child has outgrown, please send them to the office! 

Parent Teacher Conferences:

Conferences will be on Monday, November 21. Please look at your child’s Google Classroom page for more information. If you don’t see anything posted there, please contact them. 

Congratulations to Room 110 for winning the Canned Food Drive. 305 cans. WOW!! Thorp students donated over 1000 food items to the St. Cyprian Food Bank!

Each week, we will be highlighting different teachers. This week we would like to showcase our Gym teacher, Ms. McGoldrick. 

This is Mary McGoldrick and I am the P.E teacher here at Thorp. I grew up on the Southside of Chicago and yes, I am a WHITE SOX FAN!!! Growing up I loved to play sports and attend sporting events. My favorite class in school was P.E and decided to become a P.E teacher. I graduated in 1992 from University of Illinois of Chicago. After college, I started teaching at St. Andrew. I worked at St. Andrew for 9 years before coming to Thorp. I came to Thorp in 2001 and love being an Eagle. I am in my 31st year of teaching and can’t believe it. It seems like yesterday. I guess when you have fun and love your job time flies. When I am not working, I love to play golf. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends.
