Trainwrecks And Pitfalls

Let's face it, everyone loves to see other people go down. They may not admit it, but it's human nature to creep by slowly to get a peek at a wreck on the road or to pile on to someone that has made a damaging mistake. Knowing this fact almost makes you wonder why people don't just start off doing the worst thing they can think to attract attention...

Today on this "Motivational Monday," I'd like us to talk about something that you may already know. People want to see you fail. Yeah, I said it. In fact, the bigger and more successful you are, the more people secretly want to see you fail. Not because people are inherently evil, (maybe some are) but more so because people like to be entertained.

I know it sounds weird, but name just about anyone famous and we could talk about how they went down if only for a bit only to rise up again. Kevin Hart, Kim K, Dave Chappelle, Aziz Ansari...I could go on.

Look the point I'm trying to make here is that you have to be your own cheerleader. Most people although they may outwardly grant you support, in all actuality, they are hoping that you might fail simply for their own entertainment. But you can't let that bother you.

At the end of the day, it's okay to let others have the first laugh at whatever you are attempting to do. In fact, it's sorta expected. Just remember, it's up to you whether or not you persevere to have the last one.

P.S. This one was a tricky one for me to write because I have a lot of feelings about this. I personally went through the same thing in starting my business...still am and probably will be for another few more years. The thing that both of us have to remember is why we do what we're doing. It's just that simple. If you're doing what you're doing for the right reason, it will all play out in the end...Talk soon!
