Every Hour Counts Resource Guide 2022
Every Hour Counts has released an insightful resource guide for afterschool intermediaries, providers, educators, families, and community leaders. The guide is filled with 30+ tools and resources to help the out-of-school time (OST) field continuously respond to the needs of communities and build stronger, high quality programs. It includes resources on policy & advocacy, thriving workforce, racial equity, youth voice, and data & continuous improvement. Check it out!
PSAYDN EMPOWER 2022 Conference Fee Waivers
 
EMPOWER 2022 will offer professional development focused on out-of-school time (OST) programming. Pennsylvania and national experts will present the latest research and trends in OST programming, STEAM, barriers to entry for marginalized groups, advocacy, mental health, and much more.

PSAYDN has an opportunity to sponsor up to 23 registrants on a first-come, first-serve basis. The PSAYDN team would like to invite you to attend the conference without any registration fee. To register, please visit the
EMPOWER registration page and use the promo code - EMPathways - at checkout to remove the registration fee, which will be covered entirely by PSAYDN sponsorship. 

Please note that all costs associated with lodging and travel would still be your responsibility. However, if you are in need of additional support for accommodations, please contact Katherine Kuhn at kkuhn@csc.csiu.org for additional scholarship opportunities.

CSforPGH Mini-Grants: Remake Learning will award grants of up to $5,000 to establish new opportunities for out-of-school time (OST) organizations and formal educators at school districts strategically in rural and urban areas to create resources for families that may have limited access to technology resources needed to do foundational coding activities at

National Science Foundation - Advancing Informal STEM Leaning:
The Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL) Program is committed to funding research and practice, with continued focus on investigating a range of informal STEM learning (ISL) experiences and environments that make lifelong learning a reality. Deadline is January 11, 2023. United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania Community Impact Fund GrantsThe Request for Proposals for Community Impact Fund is open. They are accepting applications for programs that align with the strategies outlined in their three Investment Priorities of Meeting Basic Needs, Moving Toward Financial Stability, and Building for Success in School and Life. They will also detail their newly formed partnership and discuss their efforts to bring literacy and math interventions with workforce development and talent pipeline programming into out-of-school time providers in Pittsburgh for the first time. Population Education Professional Development
Population Education is all about people – how many of us there are, how we shape the world, and how we interact with each other. And as the go-to program providing innovative lesson plans and professional development on human population growth and its effects, Population Education supports K-12 teachers across content areas. It is critical to examine human impacts on wildlife, climate and natural resources, while working toward equality and justice for the world’s people. “The Beautiful Brain: The Importance of Understanding How Your Child’s Brain Grows and Develops” has been developed to familiarize caregivers of young children with how the brain develops and how strong brain development can be effectively supported through fun and engaging activities, setting children on a lifelong pathway of success.
