A Message from Jerry Williams
Pastor Search Committee November 2022 Update
As has been the case over the past few months, your Pastor Search Committee wanted to update you on our progress. We have been asking for your patience and prayers, and you have been great about supplying both. A couple of questions we receive most are: “Do you have our new pastor yet?” and “How can we pray for you guys?”
Allow me to start with the second question first. Please pray specifically for wisdom, discernment, unity within the team, and that we will not grow weary as this process has gone a lot longer than any of us were anticipating.
The other question can best be answered by reminding you as to what you told us you were looking for in our next pastor. You want a Godly man who will be a loving shepherd, a wise leader, a good preacher, a man of integrity, and somebody with a vision for how he will lead our church in the next season of ministry.
In our church profile that we have shared with every candidate, we shared some big dreams about ministry opportunities that we would love to see over the next 5/10/15 years. We know that only God knows tomorrow, but allow us to share some of the big dreams we would love to accomplish for God. We would love to see….
- us develop a multicultural church that matches the demographics of our area.
- us grow into a multigenerational church full of young families with lots of children and youth and older members excited to mentor and teach the younger members.
- our church focused on outreach and passionate about reaching our community for Christ.
- Hands-and-feet-of Christ type ministries such as basic car repair, home repair, etc., to help single parents, widows and families who just need a little help.
- us re-start going on local, national, and international destination mission trips.
- the upstairs built out to support disaster recovery teams with dorms, showers, and bathrooms OR built out for a Spanish-speaking church.
- a basketball court with cover (or gym) for Upward Basketball and activity-based ministries.
- the Teddy-Bear-Tea type events that impact our community.
- us find and support houses that can be used for His House ministries.
- us keep dreaming God-sized dreams….

Philippians 4:8-9
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
