Issue 16
Sunday, November 27, 2022
Dear Families,

I trust that you all had an amazing break. Maybe some of you traveled.  Maybe some were able to see family. While maybe some of you were able to catch up on some rest and relaxation. Whichever it was, I hope that the November break was right on time and has refueled you for our push through December.

The next few weeks are very busy at TMS. We will have MAP testing beginning this week, then shortly after we will be holding our second Exhibit Nights of the year. In the midst there will be expeditions, concerts, a musical, athletic events, a spirit night, and likely class parties. Make sure to watch your class newsletters closely to stay up to date.

We are holding our second Open House for prospective families on December 6th at 6pm. If you know of families that may be interested in entering the lottery or want to learn more about our school, please invite them to attend. We would love to have a full house.

Well, a second alarm may need to be set for the morning after a few days away. I'm looking forward to seeing you when we will start our push to close out the calendar year.

Sincerely,

Mike

Mike Stewart
Principal

News from the Executive Director
The Museum School's Board of Directors is in the process of drafting a new strategic plan and is eager to hear from stakeholders. Look for a survey soon that asks these TMS-based, strategic-minded questions - What is important to you? What matters to you? These questions are designed to get your feedback on the overall vision and strategy of the school. Keep in mind - daily, operational feedback is best given through school-based surveys and questionnaires.

We expect to share the new strategic plan at the May 2023 State of the School Address. Thank you for your support.  For your reference, the current strategic plan can be found here

Please note that December's Governing Board meeting has been moved to December 6 at 7:00 pm in the media center. Thank you!

Please send all donations to Ms. Peyton's classroom by December 5. You can find more information about what we need here.

It’s hard to believe that we are almost halfway through the school year! This also means that it is time for 8th grade families to begin thinking about the high school transition process. If you have had a student go through this process already or believe you can be an asset on the high school transition advisory committee, please reach out to Mrs. Diaz via email at sheena.diaz@themuseumschool.org.
