The Gift of Opportunity

Hello NSAF Family,

Since 1990, the NSAF has provided over 225,000 student athletes an invaluable gift: the gift of opportunity.  This gift has been presented in the form of life-changing development programs, world-class clinics and competitions, and grant programs that enable those unable to compete the opportunity to shine. From those opportunities thousands of college scholarships have been awarded and hundreds of thousands of dreams realized. Those dreams include 419 Olympic births and 193 Olympic medals won. Talent alone does not ensure success--without opportunity, dreams have no chance of becoming reality.

Today, the NSAF kicks off our annual Legacy Fund.  The Legacy Fund was created to provide thousands of student athletes opportunities they would not have otherwise had.  Who knows if Allyson Felix, Sydney McLaughlin, Noah Lyles or Mondo Duplantis would be where they are today had they not been given appropriate opportunities when they were young.  The majority of USATF national team members since 2012, at the U20 and senior level, have received life-changing support from the NSAF.

Our mission is to inspire and empower student athletes to excel on and off the track.  We are asking you to help us deliver this mission to more athletes than ever before. Over the next seven weeks, we will bring you the stories of student athletes whose lives have been altered due to the support of the NSAF.  Our goal is to raise $100,000 that will enable us to provide life-changing programs to thousands of student athletes.  It's an ambitious goal and we can't do it without your support.  Thank you for giving today.

"It was such a pleasure and unforgettable moment being able to represent Team NSAF in 2015 and make history. At the time, I was the youngest on the team surrounded by some elite athletes and it had been two decades since American athletes competed in Cuba. NSAF was the first team I made that exposed me to the international side of track and field. I made many connections that year that later contributed to my journey."
