That is the amount Equine Outreach spent on medical bills just last year. We pride ourselves on providing quality veterinary care to our herd. We always try to meet their individual needs which can be intensive and extensive due to the age and backgrounds of our precious horses.

It is now November, the beginning of the season of giving, leading up to one of our horse’s favorite days of the year, Giving Tuesday, on November 29th.

Help us Meet or Beat our Goal of $5000!

Money raised will go towards a Medical Fund to help our horses, not only for regular treatments and procedures, but for emergencies as well. Your donation will help us provide kindness, compassion and a new loving home for abused and neglected horses or horses their owners can just no longer care for. Many of the horses arrive with pre-existing conditions that need immediate care. Others have on going conditions that require extra needs due to age or special needs.

Equine Outreach is 100% donation driven and relies on our community to help us care for the horses we take in. With your help, we can give them the lives they deserve.

Current Need - Casino

One of our horses, Casino, is currently in need of all our help and prayers. She is currently hospitalized at Bend Equine Veterinary for several compounding health problems, including cellulitis, a serious foot condition and some diarrhea. We truly love this special, brave, sweet mare and we are doing everything we can to make sure she is comfortable during this with the hope she is strong enough to beat it. She did improve over the weekend which is great news! She still may need surgery which will end up with a long recovery, but things are looking up! You can do it, Casino!

You Can Help Casino! Donate to help give Casino the surgery she needs. We will also need extra shavings to keep her comfortable over the coming months as she recovers, as well as lots of leg wrapping supplies. If you can help with any of the needed supplies, contact us to arranged drop off.

Success Story - Paco

Paco has many successes to currently be happy about. Paco has had some chronic lameness issues that have been partially corrected so far with therapeutic shoeing and rehabilitation. But for him to live his best life, we wanted to see what else we could do to help.

We decided to bring Paco to Bend Equine to see if coffin joint injections would help. While at the veterinary clinic for his joint injections, some suspicious tissue in his right eye was discovered. A biopsy was performed to ensure it was not a cancerous lesion.

But none of this has gotten him down because now for the successes!

The joint injections are working! He has been prancing around like a new horse.

His eye biopsy results was NEGATIVE for any cancer.

HE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Paco will be going to his wonderful new home in the next couple of weeks!
