Regional Men’s Health Initiative have been providing support to blokes in regional WA for over 20 years. Owen Catto will be speaking about our RMHI model / partnerships and language.
Jason Burton – Swan Districts Football Club places high importance on being more than just football. Our Social Impact team coordinate and lead a variety of community minded programs all designed to improve lives, in a safe and inclusive environment, leveraging the strong history and reputation of Swans’ presence as a community hub for almost 100 years. Health programs include Ironbark (for First Nations people over 40), Aussiefit (for men over 35), Integrated sports teams, plus we welcome community health groups like Street Doctor, Midlas and others to the club twice a week.
Danielle Baldock is Therapy Manager at The Marian Centre, Founder Soldiers & Sirens, and a Registered Psychologist. Danielle will talk about Trauma Recovery Programme for Military and First Responders. First responders and military comprise approximately 80% males and struggle with extreme pressures and trauma at work.
John Rich, chair of MHWWA, will speak about the image of masculinity in today’s media, how can services more effectively support men and validate their journey.

MHWWA is the peak body for the health and wellbeing of men and boys in WA with objects including:
foster networks and provide a forum for leaders of men’s groups and other community leaders;
raise awareness of men’s health and wellbeing issues in a holistic sense;
promote the prevention of diseases – physical, social and emotional.
