Over the few weeks, we have noticed the roller doors have been left up at night and during the day when no one is here. We have a lot of expensive gear in our boat shed and if the roller doors are left open, we are at risk of getting our gear damaged/stolen.
Please remember the below so that your club gear and your personal gear is safe each night.
- The function room has a separate alarm so if there is someone in there but no one in the gym/boat shed, please shut the roller doors and put the alarm system on.
- We have waterproof fobs and wristbands so that you can take them in the water. If you go for a swim or paddle, take your fob with you and shut the roller door behind you. You can get these from the office for a $20 deposit. We have all in stock now.
- If you don't know how to work the alarm or need help, pop into the office and we can help you!
Remember this is your club, look after it like it is your own, if we all work together to keep the club safe and locked up when no one is here, then we wont lose any gear!
Any questions, please email the office on admin@sorrentoslsc.org.au

YIP Program
Fantastic to see so many of you have already sent in your Winter forms for YIP! Please keep them coming!
Please note that you can now also send through your points for October 2022.
Remember, it is important to make sure you capture all details (i.e. all dates and times) for every point you are claiming. If you don’t have the full details for the points you are claiming, we will not be able to process them.
Also, following a review of data received over winter (where training frequency increased significantly) we have added a cap on some points related to training, to ensure the program remains fair for all participants and adequately recognises and rewards everyone who participates in the YIP.
Please find below the updated spreadsheet for submissions. We have:
- added in a section for club BBQ duties (full shift 1hr minimum) (20 point cap).
- amended ‘club sanctioned training session’ (a 50 point cap for Winter Season, and a 75 point cap to the In Season).
Please remember the Youth Incentive Program is designed to last your entire journey through Youth. At the end of any season you can choose to redeem 1 Reward only, and rollover any balance to the following season, or choose to rollover your points completely if you haven’t quite earnt enough for the prize you’re aiming for.
If anyone has any queries or need any help with your forms please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Many thanks,
Deb Tasker
YIP Coordinator

Dolphin Program
Our club run a disability inclusion program called the Dolphins (everyone can make a difference).
We run it every Saturday between 10 am and 12 noon. If you would like to volunteer or participate please contact Christine ( 0403 289 483) or Colleen
(0403027808).
Our season has started fantastically with 15 participants and 18 volunteers. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great last Saturday but everyone enjoyed a fun filled morning learning valuable life saving skills, playing games and sharpening our beach event skills. Followed by a picnic in the park. A great morning had by all.
