The Division of People Strategy, Equity & Culture invites the University community to contribute to the annual Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Report. The 2022 EDI Report aims to focus on the impact that EDI initiatives and achievements are having on our community. Submissions from across A&S are welcome.

Reminder: 2022 AODA Report Survey
Every year the University produces an annual report through the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Office, detailing the work being done to meet the goals of the legislation and the obligations set out in the University's Statement of Commitment Regarding Persons with Disabilities. Units across the Faculty are invited to share information about work completed to meet the goals of the AODA, the Statement of Commitment and to eliminate barriers to accessibility broadly.

Quercus and Switching Tutorial Sections
As students review their schedules from Fall to Winter, they may wish to switch Y-course tutorial sections to better accommodate their schedules. Please note that there may be implications for assessments in Quercus if students switch tutorial sections either officially through ACORN or unofficially with a move just within Quercus. Please reach out to tts.artsci@utoronto.ca for a consultation if you are hoping to accommodate students switching Y-course tutorials, or for any Quercus and educational technology support.

Dean’s Outstanding Staff Awards 2023
The Faculty is now accepting nominations for the 2023 Dean’s Outstanding Staff Awards, which recognize and celebrate outstanding performance by administrative and technical staff in support of the Faculty’s mission of teaching and research excellence.

Course Readings: Syllabus Service for Winter 2023
The Syllabus Service assists faculty and staff at the University of Toronto in making course readings available to students in a manner that respects Canadian copyright law and existing U of T licensing agreements and policies. Library staff will retrieve, scan and provide links to material, as well as acquire eBooks suitable for course use whenever available. Instructors are encouraged to submit course reading lists by the priority service date of November 21, 2022.

AIMday Quantum Technologies 2022
Join the Centre for Quantum Information and Quantum Control for AIMday Quantum Technologies 2022, a free, one-day, in-person industry-academic meeting on December 7, 2022. The event will be structured around 16 research questions submitted by quantum companies. Researchers can now sign up for the questions they have interest and expertise in. Registration is now open. Call for Proposals: Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowships
The University of Toronto is pleased to announce the launch of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship, a program of Schmidt Futures, which brings together the brightest minds who have completed a PhD in the natural sciences or engineering and who aim to pursue a research project that includes the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to their domain. Applicants must demonstrate clear expertise and promise within their field of study. Experience with AI is not a requirement, but applicants must have a desire to learn new AI methodologies that stand to accelerate discoveries in their domain. Value: $85,000 CDN/year, plus benefits. NSERC Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) is seeking expressions of interest among members of the natural sciences and engineering research community from across Canada to join its Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. This Committee considers and provides advice on matters pertaining to equity, diversity and inclusion in program design, delivery and policies, and reports back to NSERC’s Council. Arts & Science faculty are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
