Fall 2022 Colloquium Recap

We are pleased to announce that the last Genetic Engineering and Society Center’s Colloquium seminar for the 2022 Fall Series has concluded.

We would like to thank all of our in-person and virtual presenters for sharing their research, knowledge and experience on a variety of topics related to existing and proposed biotechnologies and their place within broader societal changes. This semester we learned about a broad range of topics, from the history of ethics used in engineering to contemplating the power dynamics of indigenous data ethics used in genomics and health to what role the new Executive Order on biotechnology will affect academia, just to name a few.

We also want to thank the 2022 AgBioFEWS cohort for organizing panels and presentations this semester and to all the participants that actively engaged with questions and comments.

As a reminder, GES Colloquia take place on Tuesdays from 12-1pm EST. They are live-streamed and open to the public. Video recordings and podcasts can be accessed on our website.

Thank you for attending this semester’s talks (listed below). We hope to see you all in the spring 2023 semester. Coming soon, we will post the list of confirmed speakers on the GES Colloquium website.

See you in the Spring!
Drs. Dawn Rodriguez-Ward and Jen Baltzegar
