Hi everyone!
Yup...it's that time of year...the holidays are approaching!

Whatever and whether you celebrate, holidays abound at this time of year.

This time of year can be filled with awesome and filled with, um...non-awesome, amirite?

So here are a bunch of my favorite ways to make it more awesome rather than...non-awesome!

1. Just say no. Boundaries, my friends!

This time of year is FULL of people asking a LOT of you. So let's promise ourselves that we'll say no when we want to say no.

No to the party you don't want to go to. No to seeing people you don't want to see. No to the donation that your friend or that organization asks you for that you don't want to donate to. No to the contribution to the bake sale. No to the extra hours of work if you have the option to say no. No to whatever it is you don't have to do and don't want to do!

Boundaries, my friend. They're a beautiful thing.

Just say no. The world will not end. I promise.

Listen to your inner wisdom, your intuition, and your energy about you actually want to do, and do THAT.

Because doing that opens up more room for you to...

2. Receive the awesomeness you actually WANT to receive!

So I know I'm an adult, but I loooove the holidays because I fricking love presents. :) I just love receiving, and this time of year is MADE for practicing receiving!

Practicing receiving isn’t about scoring the best deal you can get or being shady or graspy. It’s not about consumption or materialism. Receiving is about being open to the good coming to you and reveling in it.

I know...easier said than done (I've written many a newsletter and run many a program about receiving, and if this is something you need some support with, you are encouraged to **receive** support from me). The great thing about this time of year is that it's a great time of year to get comfortable with the magical art of receiving.

BTW, if you're curious, I'm happy to receive fun and inspirational and/or profane socks and mugs! :)

3. Practice some high quality self-care.

Even if you're saying no to things you don't want to do, odds are there's will be a lot on your plate. (Literally and figuratively!)

So you gotta practice some high value extra special self-care.

Take your space when you need it. Actually, take it BEFORE you need it. This meme illustrates the point perfectly!

There are SO many ways to practice self-care. Some are fun and frivolous, some are important for survival and thrival. Just know you are worthy of taking care of yourself...and then please do it!

4. Decide what you want to spend and stick to it

This is also a fantastic time of year to blow all of your money and end up in debt.

Instead, take a moment to get clear on what you desire to spend during this holiday season. Assess what you've got, how many people you want to give gifts to, whether you want to host something, your end of year giving, and all that good stuff. Whatever number you decide on—whether it’s $5 or $5,000—it's your decision and your choice, and I encourage you to honor it and honor your financial boundaries.

Setting limits with money might be new to you, and it might be really hard.  It’s hard for a lot of people. I'll remind you that you're worthy of setting boundaries with your time AND with your money...so allow yourself to do that! And you know I'm here for you if you want some support with figuring this out.

5. Lastly: CHOOSE TO REVEL AND CELEBRATE!

I'm all celebratory because we're in the last week of the Celebration Challenge, and so...I encourage you to make the choice to revel and celebrate whenever possible. Reveling is fun! So enjoy the holiday lights that people put up, dance to music, make snow angels if you've got snow, revel in sleeping late, revel in receiving, and do whatever you can to safely HAVE FUN and be happy! Because reveling and celebrating means that you're seeing and honoring the abundance in your world.

So I urge you to choose to revel, celebrate, enjoy, and have LOTS of fun!

Whatever you celebrate, happy happy happy holidays...and sending TONS of love and abundance your way!

  xoxo

PS: Fave photo time!

Also, I've gotten questions about photos and photo prints for the holidays...and yes, that's definitely an option! I'll be having some specials for Black Friday/Small Biz Saturday/Cyber Monday/Giving Tuesday, so keep an eye out next week!
