Community Art Project
Starting Friday, November 4 | All Ages | Cedar Mill & Bethany Libraries

Everyone can be a part of the Library's art! Cedar Mill Library is assembling an art project created by the people of Cedar Mill and Bethany! Beginning on Friday, November 4, kits will be available at both locations with supplies, instructions and examples of this community project. Kits will also be available through the month of November or until our project is complete.

How to D&D: D&D Basics for Beginners
Saturday, November 19 | 1-3pm | Adults & Teens Ages 11+ | Cedar Mill Library

Curious about Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition, but overwhelmed by the mountain of books and not sure where to start? Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to D&D. Learn about the game's core concepts, figure out what you'll need to play, and get an overview of the basic rules. Registration required online here.


How to D&D: Level Up Your Roleplaying
Saturday, December 3 | 1-3pm | Adults & Teens Ages 11+ | Bethany Library Annex 

You've got a character ready to go for your Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition game, but how do you bring them to life at the table? In this session, we cover how to improve your roleplaying. We'll share gentle ways to boost your confidence with roleplaying, improvising, and being a better teammate to your party. Registration required online here.

Felt Sewing Craft

Voices in Verse Poetry Group
Saturday, November 19 | 10:30am-12pm | Ages 16+ | Zoom

Writers' Mill

Whether you’re writing just for fun, hoping for publication, or planning to self-publish, join us for a hands-on inspiring gathering of people who love to write. Newcomers welcome!

Tech Open Lab
Fall Session: Tuesdays, November 22, December 13 | 1-3pm | Cedar Mill Library

Need help getting started with e-books, adding an app to your smartphone or updating your email contacts? Volunteers will be available at Open Lab to answer questions. Bring your own computer, tablet, cellphone or e-reader with you to get assistance or use one of our laptops to practice.


Drop-in sessions, no registration is required, but there is limited space each session.

Bethany Village Tree Lighting & Holiday Market
Tuesday, November 29 | 5:30-8pm | All Ages | Bethany Library

Visit us at the library booth for a fun craft and learn about our winter events.

Festivities at this event include a countdown to the lighting of the Bethany Village Tree followed by the arrival of Santa and pictures, as well as holiday vendors, featured holiday drinks, and performances by local schools.

Owl Book Group
Friday, December 2 | 10:30am-12pm | Zoom

Join us virtually this month to discuss There is Nothing For You Here by Fiona Hill. Foreign policy expert Fiona Hill reveals how declining opportunity has set America on the grim path of modern Russia — and shows how we can return hope to our forgotten places. In this deeply personal account, she shares what she has learned, and explains that only by expanding opportunity can we save our democracy.

Medicare 101
Friday, December 2 | 12-1pm | Cedar Mill Library

Join Michelle Hernandez from Health Plans in Oregon as she goes over the basics of Medicare, what parts are right for you, and how to enroll. There will be plenty of time for questions at the end.

Felt Portraits
Saturday, December 3 | 10-11:30am | All Ages | Cedar Mill Library

Make your own portrait out of felt! Join us upstairs in the upstairs meeting rooms and make a portrait by transforming wool fiber into fabric. All materials are provided and all ages are encouraged to attend. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult in order to assist with the craft. 

No registration is required. If you cannot attend, extra felting kits with instructions will be available in the library to take home after this program.

Family Storytime
Bethany Library Annex: Tuesdays, 3:30-4pm & Thursdays, 10:30-11am
Cedar Mill Library: Wednesdays & Thursdays, 10:30-11am
Ages 2+ | November 8 - December 15

Join us for stories, rhymes, songs and movement! 

Registration is not required, but space is limited. We appreciate families choosing only one storytime per week.

Any time we see a book cover with half of a face, we have to take a #BookFace photo!

Please visit our website for details and to apply. Share your time and unique talents on the Library Association's Board of Directors. The Association is the governing entity that operates the Cedar Mill and Bethany Community Libraries, Second Edition Resale Shop, and our ongoing Book Sale. Be an ambassador for reading and lifelong learning in our community. Board meets third Tuesday of each month. Second Edition Resale Shop helps fund our libraries. Be part of their success! Cashier position Saturday, 9:30am-1pm.
