Statistical reporting workshop Dec. 5

► As annual statistical reporting opens Friday, December 3, Presbytery Stated Clerk Jeannie Dixon will lead a statistical reporting workshop via Zoom on Monday, December 5, at 6 p.m. CST/7 p.m. EST. The workshop is for clerks of session, pastors, office personnel – anyone who'll be submitting a congregation's 2022 year-end statistical data to the PC(USA) Office of the General Assembly. The workshop will be helpful, even if you've entered statistics before, as many questions have been changed this year. Click here to learn about these changes. Workshop registration is required. The Presbytery office will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 24 and 25, in celebration of Thanksgiving.

► The Presbyterian Youth Workers' Association (PYWA) Board of Directors have announced that Dogwood Acres Interim Director Christy Williams also will serve as their Interim Organizational Administrator. The position is a new model of leadership for PYWA and reflects a shift away from a traditional Executive Director role.
"Dr. Williams is a long tenured, highly respected youth worker and brings a wealth of experience with PYWA and youth ministry within the PC(USA)," states the announcement. We agree! Congratulations, Christy! Click here for the complete announcement. 

► First Presbyterian Church of Chipley's Scottish Festival and Highland Games will be held this Saturday, November 19, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. CST. The event will feature entertainment, food, a pipe band and a children's area. Tickets are $5 each. A kirkin' o' the tartan will follow on Sunday, November 20, at 10:30 a.m. CST. Trinity, Pensacola, Presbyterian Women will host a Christmas Tea Tuesday, December 6, at 2 p.m. CST. Attendees are invited to bring a favorite teacup and wear a hat to enjoy an English tea with organ music by worldwide performer and recording artist Tom Helms and the Trinity Learning Center Children. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased by contacting Freddie Prettyman at (850)324-2917 or fprettyman@earthlink.net

► During a recent 850 Tally Ho night of service, youth from Faith Presbyterian (Tallahassee), Christ Presbyterian (Tallahassee) and First Presbyterian of Quincy decorated
turkey Boxes, sorted turkey box food donations, assembled toiletry kits, and double-bagged for Manna on Meridian.

 Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church is making plans for its annual Living Nativity, a spiritual journey through the wonders of Christ's birth. Along the way, visitors will meet people from the Bible who will share their stories. Last year's event was rained out, but had been planned to introduce new characters with a revised script to keep the story fresh and rewarding. The  new script and cast will be incorporated this year, and provision for rain has beenn made by holding the "journey" in the church sanctuary. Plan to join the journey 5:30 – 8 p.m. CST Saturday, Dec. 10, at Laurel Hill Presbyterian, 8115 Fourth St., Laurel Hill.

► Northminster Presbyterian Church, Pensacola, is sponsoring a trip to the Holy Land Israel with an optional extension to Egypt next year from May 29 – June 6, 2023, led by Dr. Greg Seltzer and Reverend Shuford White. Wednesday, November 30, at 1 p.m. CST/2 p.m. EST,
sharing targeted solutions that will strengthen your ministry’s abuse prevention efforts. The webcast will feature Christy Schiller, Vice President of Account Services for Praesidium, whose mission is to prevent the sexual abuse of children and vulnerable adults and to preserve trust in respected organizations.
