Dear <<First Name>>,

As scientists, policy experts, and concerned community members like you have known for years our climate is in crisis, unequivocally caused by humans, and worsening with every year we delay aggressive action. Recent legislative success with the Inflation Reduction Act’s passage gives us a historic opportunity for progress, one that will require dedicated efforts in our states and communities to be effective.

We can't let this chance pass us byOnly through a coordinated effort at the state- and local- levels can the IRA achieve its potential. Local barriers continue to force our systems to cling to fossil fuels. Too much of our energy system is incentivized to promote fossil fuel use despite clean energy alternatives. Many of our homes are poorly insulated and heated by oil and gas systems that are unsafe and unhealthy. Our roads are filled with vehicles that pollute our communities, and although there are cleaner alternatives for some, widespread change feels too far away. These barriers must change. To best utilize the IRA we need well-thought-out solutions or else we will continue to stall the change we so desperately need.

DONATE TODAY
There is no time to waste, and Acadia Center is forging ahead on clean energy solutions. Our work bridges government regulation, business engagement, and efforts in our communities as we strive to build the energy system of the future today.

The work needed is vast but doable. Acadia Center is implementing the climate solutions that we need, but it’s impossible without the support of people like you. Today, I am personally asking you to join us at this vital crossroads.

Please make a gift today to Acadia Center. Your generous contribution will allow us to continue to fight against the rising tide of climate change and put us on track for a livable climate and a stronger, more equitable economy.

Acadia Center works at the intersection of diverse forces, doing the research needed to make informed choices about the climate, providing advocacy at the community-, state-, and regional- levels for these bold solutions, and taking a leadership role in their implementation.
Your gift will allow us to continue this holistic approach, and to push forward the structural changes we urgently need. These efforts include:
  • Making the case for reforms so that cleaner energy systems, buildings and transportation choices are available to all communities and incentives that continue fossil fuel dependency disappear.
  • Driving improvements in the poorest quality housing (often “super emitters” of pollution), creating safer places to live and reducing energy burdens.
  • Tackling tough climate challenges through thought leadership blueprints like RESPECT—our approach to addressing how the complex world of energy regulation, utility incentives, and consumer rates must adapt to build a modern energy system.
  • Bridging gaps between peer organizations, communities, and regulators by offering vital information needed to make wise decisions and organizing and strengthening diverse coalitions to act on these bold solutions.
  • Building partnerships and offering recommendations on how federal funds from the Inflation Reduction Act can best be applied to benefit states and communities.
These are just a few critical ways we can fight the changing climate and best utilize the new support from the IRA. We have to be bold, not only for those currently suffering from the effects of climate change but for the generations that will come after.

Together, we can turn the tide of climate change.

Sincerely,
President

P.S. The timing is more critical than ever to come together and make this change, and I’m asking for your support today. Please rush back a gift to Acadia Center, so we can work towards a safer world.

BY THE TIME YOU READ THIS, THERE WILL LIKELY BE NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIGHT FOR THE CLIMATE AND CLEAN ENERGY. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP, SO WE CAN RESPOND TO HISTORIC CHALLENGES IN REAL TIME.
