Dear <<First Name>>,

How's it going? Things are more and more hectic over here with only 2 weeks until the LanguagEd Day and only about a month till Christmas!

Today, I have a newsletter about one of the questions my colleagues and I have been asked most often by Italian teachers:

How do you assess students' learning?

You know there are various forms of assessment, including formative, summative and diagnostic. And by now you probably also know that each lesson should ideally contain an element of assessment - even informal - that tells you to what extent learning has occurred.

It's no doubt a pressing matter and not just for the concorso: every single day, you as a teacher are asked to provide grades and assessment of students' learning by the ministry, the school, the parents...

But what our teachers want to know is: how do you do this in practice?

There are lots of ideas out there (like this video we made on self-assessment or this blog by Larry Ferlazzo).

But this time, we have asked our neuroscientist in charge André Hedlund to answer this burning question and he kindly obliged: in his LanguagEd Day session, he'll be talking about outcomes, assessment and how to assess.

If you're curious, why not take a look at a sneak peek at his slides... 👇

If you're ready to hear all of André's ideas for effective assessment, join us for the LanguagEd Day on 27 November!

I hope this helps and wish you the very best for a pleasant Sunday ✨
