In observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls (November 25), we invited Cheryl Thomas, founding director of Global Rights for Women, and Philippine gender activist and advocate Cecilia Hofmann to speak about their work. Following the presentations, there will be Q/A sessions and breakout groups to continue the conversation.

Since 1993, Cheryl has worked with partners around the world to promote women’s human rights, in close collaboration with the United Nations to develop model standards on effective legal reform on gender-based violence (GBV). As co-founder of Gender Watch against Violence and Exploitation (GWAVE), Cecilia has assisted numerous victims of GBV, providing legal assistance and psychosocial services.  GWAVE also promotes advocacy work including engagement of men in ending GBV.
Inclusive pricing allows you to register at the economic tier that honors your resources and this offering. Selecting the tier that is right for you ensures we can make this event accessible for all while compensating speakers and organizers for their labor - and for their work on behalf of women and girls. 80% of proceeds from all registration contributions will go to the work of IWC and 20% to the work of Global Rights for Women and GWAVE. Thank you for your support!
