Join us on Saturday for Liberation for All: Bringing Tenderness to Conversations about Power and Privilege
a Work That Reconnects Network Webinar
with Miki Kashtan
When engaging with topics of power and privilege, would you like for everyone who has experienced impacts across power differences to be heard and engaged with deeply? Are you longing for people with access to resources, relational power, or societal privilege to leave such conversations with growing capacity and insight?
This webinar is designed to look at how we can move in this direction and transform such conversations even while the systems we live in are unchanged. Here are some of the key elements we are likely to explore together:
Tracing any system that divides people based on group membership to its patriarchal roots of scarcity, separation, and powerlessness so as to see the humanity of everyone, regardless of where we are caught
Embracing a framework of liberation and what different challenges it calls on us to examine based on our social location
Increasing capacity for loving confrontation so as to keep pain and discomfort to only what is necessary and maintaining tenderness throughout
Speaking the language of liberation, in which no one is wrong, we stand in deep humility, we disentangle intention and impacts in both directions, and we honor everyone’s capacity limits
Co-holding the entirety of anguish about how things are and the challenge of privilege together with everyone else
This webinar mixes dense content with interactive engagement so that learning arises within what people bring with them to the table.
