إِنَّا لِلهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Long-time Austin resident and beloved community member, Urooj Khan passed away at age 66.  May Allah SWT shower his mercy on him and give patience to the family. 

Br. Urooj Khan was one of the pillars of our community and a founding member of ICBC who helped establish our Masjid.  He served as our first President.  He was a visionary leader who played a crucial role in the initial years of ICBC.  He was a very compassionate person who cared for everyone in our community and was always ready to help anyone in need.

Br. Urooj's funeral will be held Thursday, 11/17/2022 at NAMCC (North Austin Muslim Community Center, 11900 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX 78753) at 1:00 PM, and then he will be taken to ICGA Muslim Cemetery for burial.

We encourage everyone to take time out of their busy schedule, attend the funeral and burial, and pray for the deceased. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and place him in Jannat-ul-Firdous.

CEMETERY DIRECTIONS:

1. Take 183 South till FM 812 (DJ Collins Road)

2. Make a left in FM 812

3. Drive all the way to Old San Antonio Road. (Main Mark is Water Tank right before that Street) Old San Antonio is a small road. Don’t miss it! 

4. Right on Old San Antonio Road Take it all the way until it seems to be a dead-end (that will be the intersection of CR 172 and Old San Antonio Road)

5. Make a slight left, and the cemetery will be on your right hand.
