Hello everyone!

It's hard to believe that the end of the year is just around the corner.

Since I spoke to you last I was very excited to visit the ABC studios in Sydney. This is where they film Play School. How lucky was I to sit in the Play School Story Time Chair and make a special recording for teachers and parents. I was allowed to choose any one of the Play School toys to sit on my lap. I chose Little Ted because he has been my favourite since my children were small. Little Ted's fur was worn in many places so I held him very gently.

My final regional visit for the year will be to the Benalla Art Gallery and the small township of Wahgunyah in Victoria. Wahgunyah holds a special place in my heart as my great grandfather, Jimmy Chen Ah Kew, who came from China to Australia in 1853 during the Gold Rush is known to be one of the pioneers of the town. My grandfather and his brothers all went to Wahgunyah Primary School which is where I will be talking and drawing dragons with the kids.

I hope you have fun over the holidays, drawing, writing, reading and doodling. I know I certainly will.

The last creative activity for the year is, 'How to Draw a Dragon.' I would love to see your dragon drawings so send them in to us.

Happy creating!

Gabi x

A riveting memoir of a girl's painful coming-of-age in a wealthy Chinese family during the 1940s.
