Please find linked below a covering letter from our Vicar, Steve Nichols, which also includes links to plenty of resources including a video, Bible study notes, finance reports as well as information on how we can respond.

Sign up now for Women Together special event

Women Together invite you to join us on Saturday 26 November from 8.00-9.30pm in church for an evening of friendship and fun in the lead up to the Christmas season. There'll be a chance to be creative with a simple idea for a gift, along with mulled wine and festive treats. We'll hear from Ali Bourne how hope can be found on the most unlikely journeys. Family Support Work Christmas collection

This year, FSW are collecting Christmas food and small Christmas gifts to package together as Christmas hampers and gifts for families in need. Please see below for the most needed items. We will be collecting at the services on Sunday 4 December.

Food: Christmas pudding, tinned custard, cranberry sauce, tinned ham/salmon/tuna, boxes of biscuits/crackers, jars of jams/spreads/marmalades/pickles/chutney, tea/coffee, shower gels, hand soap (no alcohol please).

Gifts: craft/science kits, Lego kits or gift vouchers for older children, ideally for Amazon, supermarket brands or Love2Shop (no under-2s please).
Alternatively, we have a Christmas Amazon wish list available here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/2DOOUPK6Q7BHQ?ref_=wl_share

If you wish to donate to FSW, but can’t do any of the above, please contact Vic Donougher.

*AS a reminder, the general FSW food donation box is just inside the church porch and non-perishable food items are still collected regularly. The charity is in particular need of: cleaning products, washing powder, baking ingredients (or packet cake mix), tinned pasta and jam/other spreads.

Donations for Community Clothing Bank

St Mark's church in Barrow-in-Furness offer clothes for free to those in need, and they are always looking to replenish their stocks of second-hand items, especially small men's clothes. We will be visiting Barrow in early December so could take some contributions with us to drop at St Mark's (note, this is not the church we're moving to). If you have items to give, please could you do the following:
Select carefully – please only give quality clothes, i.e. things that you would wear (no holes, stains etc)
Pack neatly – we have limited space in our car, so please fold and pack items efficiently and only use a strong 'bag for life'-type carrier bag
Give personally – please contact me about letting me have the clothes directly.  Do not leave bags at the church, in the Tiger or on my doorstep.

If I have more bags than I can take this time, I'm sure I will make other journeys before we leave! On the Facebook page of the Clothing Bank you will see they take other items, but clothes are the priority, and I won't have room for other things. Many thanks, Stuart Silk (07866 487535)

8.00am Communion services in December

The pattern of our 8.00am Communion services will change will as follows (just for December), we will have 8.00am Communion services on Sundays 4, 11 December (not on 18th) and then on Christmas Day and Sunday 1 January.

MISSION
Prayer Meeting for the Lunts

Simon and Becky will both join us THIS Sunday 20 November.  All are welcome to come and hear news of their work among refugees and others from the Middle East living in north London. We will hear about and pray for Becky's play therapy, so needed among refugee children. We meet in the WOW room (Worship Our Way), upstairs in the Tiger at 4.30pm and aim to finish at 5.45pm.

Wendy Gerster visit

All Saints Mission Partner Wendy Gerster will be visiting us again from Tuesday 22 – Wednesday 30 November. If you would like her to visit your Connect Group and share something about her work, or about missions in general, please drop her an email. Or you can invite her round personally (or together with a few friends) for a chat over a cup of tea or a meal. She is also happy to introduce groups of 4–8 people to missionary life in Japan with the legendary Japan Church Planting game! Email: wgerster@gmail.com

Mission Partner Focus: Julian and Nicky Milson

Please pray for
  • The new outreach venture at church – they’re opening the doors on Thursdays after school from 5.00-7.00pm to provide the children and their families in the park behind church with drinks, biscuits, games etc. The aim is for this to be first contact evangelism.
  • The youth group beginning again this month – hopefully with around 10 youths.

    Please give thanks for
  • Two hours of ‘free time’ per week for Nicky as Jemima is cared for by Rosy, one of their new mission partners. Also give thanks for the support in general that Chris and Rosy are for us as a family and as a church.
  • The sermon series in Exodus that seems to have been received well at church.
  • Theo whose GCSEs have started well and Jemima who has really got stuck into her home learning this term.

Pray that the Milsons will find a good balance between ‘work’ and taking time off as there has been little opportunity for rest so far this term.
    Ropeholders Beth and Will Leonard

PRAYER
Praying for the church family

Please continue to hold in your prayers those known to you who may be especially in need of God's comfort at this time and especially for:

Clare Clark
Positive news on the CT Scan. Liver cancer smaller. Oesophageal cancer also smaller but still too big for radiotherapy but at least responding. Will be carrying on with current treatment. Praise God for good response so far. Please continue to pray for Clare, David and family.

Betty Lloyd-Williams
Thank you for your prayers which are greatly appreciated. Betty will soon be discharged from the stroke ward of Brighton Hospital. Although a lot better than when she was admitted a month ago, she will continue to need significant nursing care. Pray for a suitable Nursing Home that is easily accessible, particularly for Rolf. A ‘care seeker’ is helping in locating one and the family are looking locally.

Rosieta Burton
Please continue to pray for Rosieta.

Al and Sarah Paxton
Please continue to pray for Al

Gordon Trew
Please continue to pray for Gordon

Keith Ward
Please pray for Keith who is recovering at home after a recent fall

Angela White
Angela's operation was completed successfully and she is now at home. Please pray for full recovery for her, and for her family.
