The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) at 907 Princess Anne Street in downtown Fredericksburg recently unveiled its newest exhibit. “A Monumental Weight” features and tells the story of Fredericksburg’s Auction Block. A DNA study on the ten oldest Black families in Fredericksburg has revealed that William Noel is the only known person living in the United States with a specific type of DNA. Paula Royster of the Center for African American Genealogical Research told a James Monroe High School gathering the DNA has ties to the first man--Adam.
