Grace is forming a new Disaster Response Team to serve our Grace members and local community in the aftermath of storms, ice, flooding, outages, and other disasters. This team of volunteers will assist with making homes safe, dry, and secure for disaster victims until repairs can be made. Those interested in joining our team should contact Jed Lee (jedlee810@gmail.com) or the church office (803-279-7525). Most important are your willingness to serve and learn some new skills.
Meeting is for current team members as well as individuals still thinking about signing up! Questions? Janis Collins @ 803-215-0731
After five years, Grace UMC is once again set to send a mission trip to Bolivia….and we want everyone to be a part of this outreach. The team of 12 is still forming so please let team coordinator, Janis Collins @803-215-0731 / janlyn618@gmail.com, know if you are interested in being a part of the team.
We need:
Medical personnel as well as 4 more lay-helpers
And just as important, we need you to keep the toothbrushes, reading glasses, small container sunscreen, vitamins……prayers……and fund-raising ideas flowing!
Come be a part of sending help to the Aymaran people who have waited so long!

New Advent Studies
It may only be September, but Advent is right around the corner! If your Sunday School class or small group is looking for a way to focus on the beginning of this new year (yes, Advent is the start of a new liturgical year!), check out some of these new studies:
· The Angels of Christmas: Hearing God’s Voice in Advent by Susan Robb
In this study, the reader will explore the visits to Zechariah, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds and dive deep into the history of the angel Gabriel—and other angels—in the Old Testament. The Angels of Christmas uses these four angelic appearances to discuss God’s presence in history and our lives today. The messages of the angels hold meaning for listeners both then and now.
· Prepare the Way for the Lord: Advent and the Message of John the Baptist by Adam Hamilton
For centuries, Christians have turned to the story and message of John the Baptist in the weeks leading up to Christmas. In Prepare the Way for the Lord: Advent and the Message of John the Baptist, best-selling author and pastor Adam Hamilton explores the Advent themes of John’s life and ministry, and how John calls all followers of Jesus to prepare our hearts for his coming.
