SOAR:
Flight training has begun! A couple of weeks ago, I passed my private pilot's license written exam. Each license will require a written exam, an oral and a practical (check ride) to acquire that license. I am now beginning to learn the practical side and getting up in the air. It is a really cool feeling to think back at how this has been a lifelong dream of mine and it is finally coming true! I have had to be patient for such a long time and as hard as it was sometimes, I have had to trust in the Lord's timing and man is it good. Having an organization like SOAR that cares not just about me getting a license but cares about me being the best pilot that I can be is really exciting. They are working really hard to get me ready for missionary aviation. I am continuing to learn every day in the shop, and I am getting more and more comfortable with each new airplane that comes in. This past month SOAR has had a couple of big wins with Phillip and Seth both getting their CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) licenses. As SOAR's flight training side continues to grow, this increases the organization's capacity to do new things.

Life in Mizzou:
My roommate and I continue to work hard on our house, and we hope to have that wrapped up here soon. In the meantime we actually had to move out of the house we were in. A family here in town heard about my need for some temporary housing as I transitioned and have opened their home to me until our new house is done.
KLIFE has been a blast! A bunch of my senior boys are on the football team and they finished as runners up at the district championship. Right now in small group we are talking about the Gospel and are hoping that by the end of the semester we understand the Gospel so well and deeply that we will be able to clearly communicate it to people who may not know it. I am super proud of them! As we continue to grow in our faith together, I would appreciate you guys praying for us!

Whats coming up!
At SOAR, we have a few fun things happening. On December 1st we are doing a live nativity at an event called Light the Park as a fun way to be involved in the community.
The first two full weeks of December, all of the missionary candidates will be participating in a Cessna 206 course at JAARS (a missionary aviation organization) whose headquarters are Waxhaw, NC. The Cessna 206 series of airplanes has been a mainstay in missionary aviation for many years and continues to be used by several missionary organizations. This course will give us a better understanding of the aircraft systems and required maintenance. I am also looking forward to learning more about JAARS and getting to rub shoulders with their missionaries every day. This will be during the first two weeks of December. The timing could not be better! After we finish, I will get to stick around the Carolinas for Christmas before I make my way back to Missouri!
