Volunteer Opportunities!

Hearts and Hands kits for pillowcases and children's quilt tops are available for pickup.  If you prefer to donate a quilt top using your own fabric, a good size is approximately 42" x 63".

Please visit Sandy Creek Quilts!  (Formerly Village Creek).  Sandy will be open for LVQG members at 5 pm on guild meeting nights.  It will be worth it to stop by - the shop has been beautifully remodeled and is full of fabulous fabrics!  The community is very lucky that the shop will remain open, please support your LQS.

Cat Beds!!
By Karen Bender

On Saturday, October 15, 7 quilters got together and made 79 cat beds!  Then, Friday, November 11, 55 MORE were made, for a total of 134 so far!  We saved a LOT of fabric scraps and batting from going into the land fill and made a lot of cats comfortable!!
I suspect we even helped clean some sewing studios!

The cat beds have been donated to various charities in the area – the Humane Society and/or cat rescue groups.  We plan to do this again early in 2023.  In the meantime, please save your fabric and batting scraps.  When we get back together in March, you can bring them to the Guild meeting.  We will set a date for assembling more beds at that time.

Someone gave more than fabric scraps and batting.  We found a small hexi ruler in one of the bags!  If this is yours, and you have been searching frantically for it, let Karen Bender know and I will definitely get it to you.

Thanks again to all who saved scraps and assisted in making the beds!

Hearts and Hands

There will be no Hearts and Hands in December. The Methodist Church is having a Christmas Festival on December 3.

Recent Donations:

4 quilts - 6-8 Community Center, Sauk City
4 Quilts to Divine Rehab in Lodi for their Bingo Store
8 Quilts to Divine Rehab in Lodi to go to the residents.

Thank you
Happy Thanksgiving
Dotty

If anyone would like to pick up a kit or has any questions, please contact Dotty Sutfin at 608-332-0961.

REMINDER:  Blue Bar Quilts in Middleton is a drop off site for Hearts and Hands donations.

Sandy Creek Quilts is a new drop off site too!
