BACK ONLINE THIS THURSDAY!
CROYDON VOLUNTARY SECTOR ALLIANCE MEETING
THURSDAY 10 NOVEMBER – 10 AM TO 12 NOON ONLINE
Owing to the large number of people signing up, we’ve had to bring Thursday’s CVSA meeting back online. Please register here to receive your online link.
After the Mayor announced on 21 October that the Council was decommissioning its flagship £2.6 million Community Fund, CVA approached him with a series of questions on the further £20 million spent on commissioned contracts with VCS organisations last year. On behalf of the Croydon VCS we have asked Mayor Perry to confirm:
- How many of the Croydon VCS organisations currently supported through the £2.3m Community Fund receive any other funding from the £20m+ we spent on commissioned contracts with VCS organisations last year?
- How much from this £20m+ has already been cut from Croydon VCS organisations in 2022/23, additional to the Community Fund cuts?
- After taking into account cuts to the Community Fund and other VCS funding this year, how many Croydon VCS organisations will be funded from what remains of the £20m+ you refer to?
- How much of the £20m+ is awarded to VCS organisations from outside Croydon?
- How much of the £20m+ consists of commissions to deliver statutorily required services?
- How your decision to decommission the Community Fund has been informed by the necessary equality impact assessments – and when these will be shared?
The Mayor has advised us that the Council wants to support more local organisations, who know our community best, to bid for and win council contracts. In view of this we have made an additional request – for the Council to convene an emergency Commissioning the Croydon VCS Summit this side of Christmas.
We look forward to you joining us online this Thursday for a landmark discussion on the relationship between Croydon Council and the Croydon VCS.
