INSTAGRAM LIVE WITH VINCENT PATERSON, PART 2

Our recent IG Live with celebrity choreographer, Vincent Paterson was so phenomenal that we’re bringing you three installments. Part 2’s video is focused on the work. And we’ll learn about the importance of the Choreographers Guild and what it means to the future of the industry.

Did you know that Vincent is restricted from using his own groundbreaking choreography and if he did, he could be sued? Yet the same choreography can be used by others and he receives no credit or recognition? And choreographers are not eligible to win an Oscar? The Choreographers Guild is working to rectify these issues and others.

We also find out if Vincent had one do-over in his career, would he change anything? Does he have a favorite project? And what’s The Manifesto all about?

If you missed it, Part 1 focused on Vincent’s early years and the behind-the-scenes stories from the Michael Jackson short film, Smooth Criminal. Today we present Part 2 of the interview for even more juicy details.

Again, thanks to A4D’s Dancer To Watch, Brandon Hudson for the interview with Vincent.

DANCING WITH THE STARS REVEAL SEASON 31 SEMIFINALISTS ON 90S NIGHT - TWO COUPLES SENT HOME
Dancing With the Stars gave us tons of throwbacks during Monday’s 90s Night double elimination episode. With only three weeks left in the season, DWTS cut its Top 8 down to the 6 semifinalists. Plus, the episode also featured relay dances with guest appearances from Salt-N-Pepa, Vanilla Ice, and other l of the decade. New to the competition this week saw two couples face off in the same dance style (to the same song), and the judges awarded five bonus points to the winning duo of each match-up. The results: Shangela beat Daniel in the Cha-cha; Trevor beat Vinny in the Samba; Wayne beat Heidi, also in the Samba; and Charli beat Gabby in a Salsa. There were three perfect scores awarded in the regular competition. The first went to Wayne Brady and Witney Carson for their Salsa to Motownphilly by Boyz II Men. Also receiving a perfect score were Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy for their Samba to Livin’ La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin. And finally, with a perfect score of 40 points, frontrunner Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas remained at the top for their Tango to Song 2 by Blur. We can’t miss noting that Deaf contestant Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart received 39 of 40 points for their Jazz to Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode. In the bottom and in danger of going home were Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater for their Salsa to Barbie Girl by Aqua, and Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev for their Contemporary to Ironic by Alanis Morissette. The final couple in danger was Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki for their Tango to What Is Love by Haddaway. In the end, the Jersey Shore fans couldn’t rally enough votes to save nice guy Vinny Guadagnino. That left two remaining couples in the hands of the judges. Trevor Donovan and Heidi D’Amelio. It was unanimous and the judges chose to send Heidi home. Next week is the Semi Finals!
