Dear readers,

With over 100 million estimated to be forcibly displaced, how can sport support in crises? Join sportanddev and the Sport for Refugees Coalition on 1 December for a webinar.

We are also collecting commentaries on the topic, and this week highlight an article on a project training refugees to become swim coaches. Send your articles before 21 November.

The FIRE+ project – supported by ERASMUS+, coordinated by Sport & Citizenship, and which sportanddev joined as partner – has also launched a survey. If you are a grassroots organisation using football with refugees, please share your experiences. The survey aims to strengthen policy and practice by providing evidence on what works.

We also highlighted a podcast on athlete migration, an article on a volleyball club’s push for the development of women’s sport, an article in French on environmental protection through surfing, and the upcoming 8th Annual IWG World Conference on Women & Sport.

Happy reading,
The sportanddev team
