In 1 Chronicles 12:32, the author shares about the men of the tribe of Issachar who “had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…” As people of faith wanting to respond faithfully in climate justice issues, we must stay informed in order to have that same “understanding of the times.” At the Climate Witness Project, we’re sharing resources that educate about climate issues, that lead in worship of our Creator God, that train in Christian advocacy, and that share practical steps for reducing carbon emissions. Come learn along with us!

EDUCATION

The Climate Crisis Is a Human Crisis

Climate disasters are driving people from their homes in huge numbers. And unless something changes, the cost of inaction will be staggering. “The climate crisis is a human crisis…but are we connecting the dots as Christians?” Allen Drew, our Climate Witness Project east coast organizer, delves deep into why climate change issues are justice issues, and challenges us to act out of love for our neighbors. WORSHIP

Justice Work Starts with Worship

There are so many issues to care about and yet so little time. How do we respond? This season of the Do Justice podcast is exploring the role of worship — both corporate and private — in helping us open our eyes anew, forming us for justice work in God’s kingdom. You’ll find both in-depth interviews and study group discussion guides on the podcast’s season home page. Check it out!

Invest in Climate Hope

Our job at the Climate Witness Project is to equip people of faith to take hopeful climate action. We echo the words of Melody Zhang, “Working for climate justice within Christian community allows for me to bring my whole self to the game and allows me to see that working towards justice is a core part of discipleship.”   This year, your gifts enabled us to hold several webinars, share Lent devotionals, fund documentary production and present regular advocacy opportunities. Even as the climate news becomes increasingly dire, it’s important to not give up. Partner with us for hopeful action in 2023 as we continue to call Christians to climate justice work. Your donation of any amount makes it possible.

Help us address the urgency of climate change.
