It’s Election Day – Go Vote!

The outcome of elections can have a huge impact, including who makes decisions on how critical programs like Social Security and Medicaid work. These programs make a BIG difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families.

If you haven’t done so already, make sure you VOTE TODAY!

Here's how:

  • Find your polling place and plan for how you will get there.

  • Bring a photo ID. Many states require you to provide a photo ID. Make sure to bring one with you if it is required. You can find voter information about your state here.

  • Plan to wait. There may be long lines to vote, so take with you anything you may need to be comfortable, like a snack, warm clothes, any medications, or a chair. You can ask the polling place for an accommodation to help you wait in line or move ahead in line, but they may not be able to grant your request.

And remember: If the polls close while you are waiting in line, you still have the right to vote. So, don’t get out of line when the polls close.

Are you having problems voting or think your rights have been violated? Contact the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE or 1-866-687-8683.
