Board Announcements
NWICC Election Process 

If you are an active eligible member you should have received an email calling for nominations. Below is the election process and tentative timeline we will be aiming for.

Elections Process: 
Step 1:  Elections Committee will send emails (newsletter) to NWICC members to request members nominate four candidates. (First communication on 11/8) The deadline to send the nomination is the end of day 11/27. 

Step 2:  After nominations have been received, the Election Committee will vet the nominees to verify if they are eligible and then contact the eligible nominees to confirm their acceptance and seek their Bio. (Tentative End Date: 11/30/2022) 

Step 3:  The accepted nominees (candidates) will be announced by the Election Committee via email, including their Bio, NWICC weekly newsletter, and NWICC website if possible (The tentative Start Date of the election is 12/03/2022 and the end date is 12/25/2022) 

Step 4:  Elections Committee will host a "Meet the Candidates" event. (Tentative Event Date: 12/02/2022) 

Step 5:  Elections Committee will send emails to NWICC members to vote for candidates. All voting will be electronic. The voting process will be explained in more detail at that time. (Tentative End Date of Election: 12/25/2022) 

Step 6:  Lastly, the Elections Committee will carefully tally the votes and announce the election results. (Tentative announcement date:  12/27/2022) 


If you feel you are a member and did not receive the email, please reach out to nwicc.election@gmail.com and cc the treasurer (Jamesha Salaam <jameshasalaam@nwiccmn.org> ) to verify eligibility.

Devastating Floods in Pakistan
Dear Minnesota friends and family

As you know by now, the recent floods in Pakistan have caused large-scale devastation. 
Families have lost their homes, businesses, cattle, access to roads & medical assistance has been shut down. 

If you are interested in helping with the flood relief efforts in Pakistan at a local level, please join Sep 11th event for Indus Hospital.

Indus, the largest medical network in Pakistan right now, has made the decision to collect funds for flood relief during Sep 11 (see details attached) and make the following urgent needs available for flood-affected areas in Pakistan.

- Mobile vans
- Mobile labs, and
- Medical supplies
- Clean Drinking water & Food Supplies
- Waterproof Tents for shelter

Please make an attempt to attend Sep 11th Indus Hospital event in person and donate in person.
If you cannot attend the event in person, please contact Asad Irfanullah, Afzaal Jalil, Masaood Yunus or myself for donations.

NWICC is organized exclusively for Islamic educational, religious, charitable, and social activities. All assets of NWICC are to be used for religious and social purposes documented in the by-laws. All its activities shall be in accordance with the Quran, authentic Sunnah, laws of the State of Minnesota, and the laws of The United States of America. The aim and purpose of NWICC is to serve the best interest of Muslims of Minnesota, particularly the Muslims living in the West and Northwest Metropolitan Areas (Plymouth/Maple Grove and its neighboring communities).
