This year we commemorate the 100 Year Anniversary of the Balcombe Heights Estate and the opening of The William Thompson Masonic School. The Balcombe Heights land was purchased by The Freemasons in 1921. The aim was to establish a Masonic School for the children of Freemasons who had died serving in
World War I. This image was taken on the opening day of The William Thompson Masonic School. November 11th, 1922 was selected as the opening day for its significance to Armistice Day, the end of the Great War.
