Avoiding Stinky Smells

Here's a funny story about an experience I had when I was just starting off as a personal trainer. There was this one guy I was training for his wedding. He was trying to lose about 30 pounds in 6 months and he would put in work in each of his training sessions. Always sweating and getting the mats all wet. It was pretty gross, but cool to see at the same time.

So in one of his workouts, I notice that his sweat smells a little different. Not better, not worse, just different. So I ask him about his diet. He tells me about how he's been eating really clean and has avoided any red meat. I said good for you,  Then, it came time for the end of our workout and as he gets up from the mat he lets out this gigantic fart. I mean it was like people stopped mid-rep and all stared at me and my client. I was so embarrassed for him.

What was the point of that story? Well, simple. Sometimes, even doing things that seem right in the first place, may have unintended (and possibly embarrassing) results.

Some people might laugh at you, some might even talk about you behind your back. But here's the thing. Sometimes, your execution might be a little off. That's okay though. If you are doing the right thing, you shouldn't worry about judgment. Just maybe if you are making a change, think about doing it gradually.

P.S. Something to remember is that only you know what the right thing is. Honestly, so many people have their own opinions formed before they know the whole truth. It's cliche to say you don't know what other people have gone through. On the other hand, it's worth it to note that people also don't have the full context of your life either. If you're doing your best that's all you can hope for. If you want a little help, however, take a listen to this...Talk soon!
