Saturday Live Music Session

Featuring Charles Jenkins and Nick Vulture

Charles Jenkins is a well known South Australian artist, now based in Melbourne. He is a songwriter/musician, producer, performer and teacher with more than 30 years experience in the Australian Music Industry.

With this solo acoustic venture, local surfer, Nick Vulture has moved into territory that couldn’t be any further removed from his roots in the garage punk scene of Adelaide, South Australia with his band, The Molting Vultures.  This is gritty acoustic folk done raw and stripped back to its very core. Nick’s songs are deeply personal, but also universal, in that they reflect the general fragility of the human condition with all of its uncertainty, its cruelty and its beauty.

Saturday 21 January, 2-4pm
Tickets: $25, $20 concession
Licenced bar, no BYO alcohol.

Your Say - Hopgood Theatre

Hopgood Theatre - Future Opportunities

Hopgood Theatre opened in 1985 and is an integral part of the regional arts community, providing a space for local emerging artists to perform, as well as bringing national and international performances to the Fleurieu region.

The main theatre has one of the largest seating capacities of any theatre in suburban Adelaide, boasting a 492-seat capacity. Thousands of people attend performances at the Hopgood Theatre each year. It’s the only professional performing arts centre of this size within the City of Onkaparinga (approximate population of 175,000) and the broader Fleurieu Peninsula (approximate population of 50,000).

The community has a longstanding connection with Hopgood Theatre which provides vibrancy and activates Ramsay Place and the broader Noarlunga Centre during day and night.

The future of the Hopgood Theatre has been assured through community and council advocacy efforts which have resulted in the state government committing to a 25-year lease agreement with City of Onkaparinga and includes a state government grant of $6 million to refurbish Hopgood Theatre.

We are now seeking community feedback on the future opportunities for Hopgood Theatre and what programs and services are desired to ensure the longevity of this much-loved performing arts facility.

Expression of Interest for Stage 2
Old Reynella Beautification

An exciting opportunity for a mosaic artist/artist team to produce a significant work in Old Reynella.

This project is part of Stage 2 of the Old Reynella Beautification on the Amenities Block on Old South Road.

It requires the successful artist/artist team to undertake a mosaic which draws on the history of the town of Old Reynella.

The horse changing station has significance in that it is near the site and was a vital link for communication before the railway was established.

Follow the link below for the Artist Brief.

Expressions of interest close on 23 December 2022.

EWA's Latest Development - 'Perspective'
+ Carclew's 50th Birthday

ExpressWay Arts are developing a roving performance titled 'Perspective' under the guidance of Artist, Eliza Lovell, to be premiered at the DreamBIG Children’s Festival in May 2023.
In the lead up to this, we had the exciting opportunity to perform a snippet of it at the Carclew 50th Birthday Party Event on the 26th November. It was great fun and we even had a presence on the news that night!
We’re exciting about our continued development and are always welcoming new ensemble members. Please get in touch if you’re interested in joining.
The way we work is inclusive, and easily integrates new ensemble members, contact Tam (Creative Producer: tcollins@carclew.org.au) and come and help bring to life a dynamic performance with a group that works supportively and progressively together.
