  Odds and Ends:

Have you seen the price of turkeys? Yikes!!! As is the custom in our Soup Kitchen, we usually serve our Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday evening prior to Thanksgiving Day. (Thanksgiving Day is the only weekday we are closed all year. St. James serves a community Thanksgiving dinner, so we encourage our guests to go there.) This year as we looked at the price of turkeys and our already strapped budget, we have decided to ask for your "Hands-on, no money taken" help in providing turkeys for our Soup Kitchen guests. Here is all you need do: Buy a turkey (15-20 pounds) and bring it to the church or Soup Kitchen this week. If we can collect at least 6 turkeys, then we will serve turkey and gravy and all the fixin's on Wednesday, November 23. I'm betting we can do this!

Check out a  ministry at St. Barnabas! Did you know all of our meetings are open meetings, unless declared an executive session? Each week, look over the week's schedule and see if there is a group meeting that interests you. Then join us in the meeting to learn more about the ministry and to see where God is calling you to serve in this time and place. This week, we have choir rehearsal, Soup Kitchen Board, Contemplative Prayer, Ukrainian Refugee Committee, Handwork Guild, Bell Choir Rehearsal, and Bible Study.

Our Fall Bible Study on "Miracles" concludes this Thursday at 12 noon in the Treadwell Room. This Thursday we will look at three of the miracles recorded in the Acts of the Apostles: Peter heals the lame man (Acts 3:7-11); Ananias heals Saul's blindness (Acts 9:17-18); and Peter raises Dorcus from the dead (Acts 9:39-42.)

It's that time again! Toilet paper collection for the Gospel Rescue Mission. Please bring in your contribution soon and leave in the narthex.
    Getting out into the world...

There is so much going on in our community as the holidays arrive. Please email Betty if your organization/club/special interest is having an event...or you learn of an opportunity for service, education or employment. Together, with God, we can make our community better and stronger.

Two events that end today, so don't waste time if either of these interest you!
