Featured This Week

Mining, Environment, and Society

This September, ESI convened academics, industry, government officials and NGOs at the MIT Conference on Mining, Environment, and Society, to discuss the environmental and social challenges of supplying the materials for solar, batteries, the electric grid and more, and to identify opportunities for future collaboration.

The three-day virtual conference attracted over 350 attendees from 27 countries on six continents, and set the stage for future work on community engagement, ESG metrics, and government/industry relations in mining.
A panel conversation between Prof. Deanna Kemp, University of Queensland (top L), Rohitesh Dhawan, International Council on Mining and Metals (top R), and Scott Odell of ESI
