Things happening right now ⏱️
We've launched PageRank-powered search results
PageRank-based search results ranking is live on Sourcegraph.com, thanks to the herculean efforts of the #ranking team. The new results ranking effectively measures code reuse. This means search rankings prioritize relevant & reusable code, saving time for our users. The new ranking is live on Sourcegraph.com and will come to customer instances in the future.
November anniversaries
Take a few minutes to congratulate these teammates on their Sourcegraph anniversaries. Thank you for everything you’ve contributed to Sourcegraph, we’re lucky to have you!
GitHub Universe
GitHub Universe was this week, and ultimately they announced far less about code search than we were expecting.Strategy-wise, our team's focused on the right things (being a code intelligence platform, becoming cloud-first and more product-led, and Strategic-readiness), so GHU didn't significantly shift anything for our team. Check out #wg-github-competition for all of the action, but here are a few takeaways:
GitHub code search and code view moved from technical preview to beta (and is still only available via waitlist). See this post for details.
Our plan is to paint a really exciting picture of what we’ll be shipping in the future and push GitHub to open up API integrations into code search/nav so we can make those better. See this post for details.
To learn more about Github's offering, you can check out their promotional video and blog post.
Refreshed slide deck template
Thanks to Tracey Johnson, our Sourcegraph slide template got a design refresh. You can check out the newtemplate hereand start using it today.

What’s SCIP and why should you care?
Have you heard casual mentions of "SCIP" at Sourcegraph, but don't fully understand what it is? Thanks to Olaf Geirssonwe now have a new crash course that will explain the basics and answer questions like:
What is SCIP?
Why is SCIP relevant for different teams at the company?
How do you work with SCIP?
What are the next steps for SCIP?
Gaining a better understanding of SCIP will inform the kinds of conversations we have about Sourcegraph's code intelligence products.
