Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR)
ADR is organising a webinar on "Delisting of Unrecognised Political Parties and proposed limit on cash contributions by the Election Commission of India" on 10th November 2022 from 3 PM to 4:30 PM (IST).

The focus points for the webinar are as follows:
  1. Need for EC to have power to deregister a political party
  2. Crackdown on unrecognised parties insufficient unless similar action is initiated against National/State parties for non-compliance and discrepancies in declared information
  3. Lowering the disclosure limit of anonymous donations for the political parties from Rs 20,000 to Rs 2,000 while Electoral Bonds remain untouched
  4. Cap cash donations received by parties to 20% of their total receipts
  5. Making all contributions to political parties digital/Banning cash contributions
  6. Mechanism to identify and deter foreign contributions (context: No mechanism to segregate foreign donations at the initial stages specifically, and the present format of contribution report is "not equipped" to seek additional information.)
  7. Opposition from political parties to EC's proposals that the individual donation for the political parties is beyond the purview of the poll panel
  8. Discussions between the Law Ministry and the Election Commission to analyze some major overhauls in the RP act and other laws to bring transparency to the electoral process
