Hello from your neighborhood record store! We are gearing up for the Starcrawler in-store performance this Sunday; 3pm showtime here on the store side and as is custom, it won't cost you a thing. I mean, if you wanna buy one of their CDs or records we won't stop you! But no cover so come on down. And mark your calendar for Kenny Roby playing here next Saturday, November 19th at 3pm. In-stores are back and we are loving it!
Also worth mentioning... Record Store Day Black Friday is coming up November 25th! Check out the list of exclusive titles here. As usual, we'll open early at 8am and if you are sweating over particular titles, you'll probably wanna get here early.
Lastly, I just wanted to share my rave review of the Alvvays show at The Orange Peel the night before last. They covered tunes from all three records (so good!) and brought a  jangly, shoe-gaze wall of sound to their great catalog of songs. We have plenty of their latest Blue Rev on LP & CD in it's grand lushness. For contrast, here's a stripped down acoustic version of Pharmacist played by Jeff Tweedy.

What's there to say! Along with Ramones self titled album this is a cornerstone of Punk rock. Released in 1977, these four London blokes just out of their teens made history and forever changed the shape of rock music. Their history is short and tragic. Johnny Rotten would remain active (and relevant!) through the 80s with Public Image Ltd. but he wouldn't (nor anyone!) create a genre defining statement of punk like this.
