Meeting of the Members Guidelines

The following rules are based on the City of St Catharines Bylaws and Municipal Act that govern the SCDA.

It is ONE vote per commercial property owner, or the tenant(s) of these commercial properties located within the BIA boundaries.

Each member is entitled to only one vote regardless of the number of properties they own or lease in the BIA.

There shall be no proxy voting of any kind at members meetings, except that a corporate member may nominate in writing (using the ‘Corporation Appointing a Person to Represent them’ form) to be presented to the SCDA prior to the commencement of the meeting, one individual to vote on its behalf. For the purposes of this meeting this can be either for running for a position on the Board of Directors or to vote on their behalf.

Ballot cards will be distributed to eligible voters upon entry.

If the SCDA does not have a way to verify you are a member you may be requested to complete a Declaration of BIA membership in order to receive a ballot.
