One of our favorite PRISM Festival filmmakers Ruth Caudeli returns from Spain to share her latest, tantalizing film Petit Mal as this month’s Queer Specrtum series feature. You’ll walk away knowing more about throuples than you planned. (Watch the trailer here)

In the film, Anto, Marti and Lai (played by Caudeli) are blissfully living together in a remote house. When Lai leaves for a work trip, the balance is thrown off and the shift is palpable.  In the spirit of honest and vulnerable openness, this semi-autobiographical blend of documentary and fiction is an invitation to experience the intimate details of the ups and downs and shifting dynamics in a polyamorous relationship.

SXSW PANEL TO FEATURE AGLIFF

Topic to explore films role as cultural bridges

aGLIFF takes its experience as Austin’s oldest film festival and the Southwest’s largest LGBTQ+ film festival to share how historically marginalized stories play an important role is accessing cultural experiences. Along with other Austin-area film festivals, aGLIFF will participate in the SXSW panel entitled “Activating Diverse Communities Through Film.”
The panel takes a look at how film is a great vehicle to bring people together and overcome "otherness" between communities. Watching films in a social setting is an enjoyable opportunity for audiences to encounter different cultures and learn new perspectives.
