ACTION ALERT- Rainbow Curve Bond Project

The City of Bentonville needs to hear your input on the Rainbow Curve Improvements.  Currently, there are no plans to accommodate bikes in the design even though this area is listed on the Connect Bentonville Plan.  The city needs to hear from you about improving connectivity through this area of town safely for people walking and riding bikes. They will be hosting a public input session on November 17, 2022, at the Bentonville Public Library in the Walmart Room from 4:30 pm to 6 pm.

For more information on the proposed construction. Please click here for more information.

Bella Vista- Shared-Use Paved Path/Trail Extensions

The City of Bella Vista and Trailblazers are excited to start design work for extending two existing shared-use paved trails/paths. These extensions were adopted by the City of Bella Vista and the Bella Vista Property Owners Association during the creation of the 2015 NWA Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. Adult First Ride

There's nothing like the joy of getting your first bike! Thanks to Pedal it Forward NWA for providing eleven bikes for our Adult First Ride participants. Also, thank you to CEI for providing flat repair kits to help these new riders be extra prepared.

We need your help to bring the joy of riding a bicycle to more adults in Northwest Arkansas.  We currently have 40 people on a waiting list to learn how to ride.  For $50 a person you can help create lifelong riders. These efforts support our goal of growing a more diverse cycling community!

For more information about how to underwrite an Adult First Ride class, contact Gabriela@WeAreTrailblazers.org.

Critical Mass Summit

The second Critical Mass Summit was held on Friday and Saturday November 4-5 at Mt Sequoyah in Fayetteville to discuss barriers to participation in the trails, cycling, and active transportation community. Attendees joined Trailblazers and Bike.POC for a keynote with Charles T. Brown about our built environment and equitable mobility as well as sessions on organizing communities and accountability of non-marginalized groups to advocate for mobility and social justice.

We Passed the Mic!

On Wednesday, November 19, Trailblazers and Bike.POC joined up with PeopleForBikes during their SHIFT’22 event to host Pass the Mic: Bike Culture in the US and How We Got Here. Rahsaan Bahati, Rachel Maney, and Wes Craiglow were led by Bea Apple in conversations about the impact of our built environment and how it shapes communities and cultures, both on and off the bike.

Northwest Arkansas Adaptive Off-Road Adventure

The last weekend of October, we were excited to support the Ozark Adaptive Sports Association - OZASA "Northwest Arkansas Adaptive Off-Road Adventure" through sponsorship and assistance with rides. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved, and we will keep working to make our trails adaptive-friendly. Trailblazers truly believe in our motto "Movement For All."
On October 14th thru 16th, the City of Fayetteville hosted a UCI Nationals cyclo-cross race at Centennial Park. The Trailblazers did course maintenance in preparation for the event and led the setup/teardown for the course. By utilizing the knowledge we gained from the 2022 UCI World CX Championships, the Trailblazers delivered an unforgettable race course and race experience to all who attended.

SRAM Trail LUV Day

On October 26th, Trailblazers partnered with Sram to put on another Trail Luv Day with over 50 employees from Sram showing up to do repairs on Loam Wolf and Schroen Train in Slaughter Pen. Special thanks to  Shoreline Shuttles for providing transportation.
