Drawbridge Dispatch #15

Thank you for your continuing prayers! As Yoko and I continue our travels and ministry in Canada, I wanted to bring you another brief update on our manga ministry. So here’s a five-point dispatch from Drawbridge Creations:

1. If you haven’t already, please check out our newly updated bilingual promo video by clicking on the preview image above.

2. I’ve been doing some updates to the Drawbridge Creations website recently, both tweaking the site itself as well as blogging. If you haven’t visited in a while, why not take a look and see what’s new?

3. Meanwhile, Waypoints season two continues with this month’s manga, “A Desperate Woman,” illustrated by Ryo Azumi and written by none other than my wife Yoko, who makes her debut with this script.

4. Here in Canada, Yoko and I recently paid a visit to my alma mater Kingswood University, where I led a visual storytelling workshop. We talked about how comics work and the things cartoonists have in mind when they make them. And we did some fun collaborative art exercises too. It was a small group, but everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. This was a first for me, but a great experience, because when we think about potential in-person ministries Drawbridge could do in Japan, this kind of thing is one possibility that comes to mind. I’m grateful for this opportunity. (photos below)

5. Finally, a request: If you are thinking of doing some end-of-year giving, please keep Drawbridge Creations in mind. It’s because of the support of people like you that we’ve been able to get this far, and thankfully we do have enough funds to continue creating and sharing Waypoints stories online through 2024. But as we look to expand the ministries of Drawbridge Creations, we need continuing support, especially as we look to move from digital-only to print publishing in the next year. いつもありがとうございます！陽子と私はカナダでの旅と奉仕を続けていますが、ドローブリッジ・クリエーションズに関する五つのアップデートをお知らせしたいと思います。

1. もしまだプロモーションビデオを見ていなければ、上にあるプレビューイメージをクリックしてビデオを見てみてください。

2. 最近、ドローブリッジ のウェブサイトを更新しました。新しいブログ以外にも更新したところがあります。しばらくサイトを覗いていないなら、是非、チェックしてみてくださいね。

3. さて、Waypointsの漫画シーズン２は続いていますよ。今月の漫画『ある女の絶望』は、あずみ椋がイラストを担当しています。妻の陽子がシナリオを担当しました。

4. カナダで母校であるKingswood Universityを陽子とともに訪問し、視覚イメージを用いたストーリーの書き方に関するワークショップを行いました。その内容は漫画の成り立ちや漫画家が漫画を制作するときにどんなことを意識しているかについて話しました。また、皆で協力して一つのアートを制作する楽しい時間も持ちました。小さな集まりでしたが、参加者みんなが本当に楽しんでくれました。これは私にとって初めてのことでしたが、とても大きな経験となりました。というのも、こうした種類のイベントが将来、ドローブリッジのミニストリーの一部になることを思い描いているからです。（下に写真があります）

5. 最後にお願いがあります。もしも、年末にどこかに献金をしようかと考えている方は、どうぞドローブリッジ・クリエーションズのことも覚えてください。皆さんのような方々のサポートによって私達はここまでたどり着けたからです。2024年にかけてWaypointsの漫画をオンラインでシェアしていくのに必要な資金は与えられています。ですが、ドローブリッジ・クリエーションズのミニストリーを広げるために、今後も私達はサポートを必要としています。特に、来年はデジタルの漫画だけから、印刷物の漫画も提供することを目指しています。目標額は$10,000です。このためにどうか私達と一緒に祈ってください。そして、献金についてご検討くだされば幸いです。献金方法についての情報はこちらにあります。
