Thank you for your continuing prayers! As Yoko and I continue our travels and ministry in Canada, I wanted to bring you another brief update on our manga ministry. So here’s a five-point dispatch from Drawbridge Creations:
1. If you haven’t already, please check out our newly updated bilingual promo video by clicking on the preview image above.
2. I’ve been doing some updates to the Drawbridge Creations website recently, both tweaking the site itself as well as blogging. If you haven’t visited in a while, why not take a look and see what’s new?
3. Meanwhile, Waypoints season two continues with this month’s manga, “A Desperate Woman,” illustrated by Ryo Azumi and written by none other than my wife Yoko, who makes her debut with this script.
4. Here in Canada, Yoko and I recently paid a visit to my alma mater Kingswood University, where I led a visual storytelling workshop. We talked about how comics work and the things cartoonists have in mind when they make them. And we did some fun collaborative art exercises too. It was a small group, but everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. This was a first for me, but a great experience, because when we think about potential in-person ministries Drawbridge could do in Japan, this kind of thing is one possibility that comes to mind. I’m grateful for this opportunity. (photos below)
5. Finally, a request: If you are thinking of doing some end-of-year giving, please keep Drawbridge Creations in mind. It’s because of the support of people like you that we’ve been able to get this far, and thankfully we do have enough funds to continue creating and sharing Waypoints stories online through 2024. But as we look to expand the ministries of Drawbridge Creations, we need continuing support, especially as we look to move from digital-only to print publishing in the next year. Our goal is to raise $10,000 US. Would you pray with us about this, and if you’re able consider giving? Giving info and links can be found HERE.
Thank you again for your interest and prayers!
