Winter Bird Feeding Live Q&A

Wednesday, November 16, 2:00–3:00 p.m. ET

Winter is on its way, and backyard birds will soon be flocking to feeders for an easy snack as temperatures begin to drop. With so much information out there, it can be hard to decide how to approach feeding our feathered friends. That's why we're bringing in the experts to answer all of your winter wonderings about bird feeding!

During this one-hour live event, the Cornell Lab's Bird Cams team will chat with Project FeederWatch Leader Dr. Emma Greig and Project Assistant Heidi Faulkner. They'll offer top tips for winter bird feeding and share how how you can get involved counting birds for science with Project FeederWatch this season.

In this paid workshop, join science illustrator Liz Clayton Fuller for a ​step-by-step guide through the process of creating your very own painting of a Black-capped Chickadee—perfect for a holiday gift or greeting card! Liz will take you from blank paper, to sketch, to finished painting while explaining her techniques and strategies along the way. Liz will demonstrate how to use watercolor for rendering feathers, beaks, branches, and more.
