this Holiday Season!

Small Business Saturday is November 26th, 2022. It's the perfect day to kick-off your holiday promotion campaign, just in time for the shopping rush! Studies have increasingly shown that consumers are interested in purchasing environmentally friendly products and want to support Green Businesses. We recommend that you develop a social media plan NOW to boost your visibility, before you get too busy with holiday shoppers.

We've put together some social media templates in Canva for you to use for Small Business Saturday, and a Shop Green campaign you can use throughout the holiday season. Canva is free and easy to use, but if you need a little help getting started, check out their Getting Started with Canva tutorials.

Congratulations to our Chocolate Winners

In our last newsletter, we asked you all to do a social media post about why it was important for you to get certified as a Green Business, and to tag us in the post for a chance to win a box of AlterEco chocolate truffles. We had lots of entries and picked 5 winners:

Some entries even had custom graphics that highlighted the changes they made to get certified, like the sample from Alacritous Solutions below! This contest was such a success we will be doing more in the future. Be sure to participate next time and you might just win a very large box of chocolates!

The Innovator Tier is the highest level of certification that the California Green Business Network offers. Businesses who achieve this accomplishment go above and beyond to combat climate change by greening their business operations as much as possible, and receive additional advertising benefits and recognition from CAGBN for reaching Innovator level. Be sure to contact your local coordinator to find out how your business can be an Innovator too!
