The other side of Press Club We'd like to highlight exactly what Press Club makes possible. It serves as a way for people to do a little extra to support local journalism in their communities.
Costs for everyone have been going up in recent months (for us, too) and we appreciate all of you contributing a little extra because you feel what we do is important.
Press Club helps support the livelihoods of local journalists who live and report in our communities. That's an amenity that takes work to maintain and something that's making Newton increasingly unique in Kansas.
Below are some photos of this week's edition. From covering local government to investigating issues to charting business development to honoring our local veterans, your support makes what we do possible, and we appreciate it.

We're going to take mingles on the road
Since June, we've been using the office to host mingles, but we think it would be fun in the new year to start mixing it up.
We have a few lined up but are looking for more. If you have a good idea or know of a business or venue interested in hosting, let us know.
And next Thursday, Nov. 17, we will be having a mingle at our office.
There will be beer, wine, snacks, etc. Bring a friend if you'd like.
