This event gives great public attention to issues facing refugees.

Settlement-Rental Accommodation for Refugee families
Thus far, BR4R has welcomed two families to Ballina and Byron Shires, Each family is supported by our volunteer community support groups.  Within a short time, the families appear to be settling well, to the extent that BR4R is now considering inviting another couple of families in the coming months.

From our experience, we have found that securing suitable rental accommodation is pivotal to other needs such as employment, schooling and transport.

If you own rental property in the Ballina/Byron region or know of someone who does, we would be very interested to hear from you. The property need not be available now – it could be some months away. BR4R would be prepared to ensure the market rate is paid and work with tenants to guarantee that the property is well cared for.

Please contact s.yeo@br4r.org.au or ruth.henderson@br4r.org.au if you can assist, or would like more information.
