Cities of Learning autumn mood 🍁

Rainy day blues 🔵 A face like thunder ⚡️
The English language is full of nods to how weather affects mood, energy, and even mental health. Well, our relationship to the environment likely isn’t so simple as cold = bad or warm = good 🤷‍♂️ But the light tells us to stay awake, and darkness tells our brain it’s time to rest 🤨 What do you choose: autumn darkness or a little bit more of sun?

Project “Cities of Learning: Youth co-design learning, civic and career pathways”, which was a part of Key Action 3, aimed to engage, connect and empower young people to co-design pathways to learning, civic engagement and careers in 8 countries. The partners implemented activities from youth consultations to creating policy recommendations. You can have a look at the results and materials that can be used in other projects or initiatives.
During the project, young people, local stakeholders and Cities of Learning partners engaged more than 600 young people in consultations about learning, civic and career pathways. Finally, more than 100 young people, youth workers, educators, policy and decision-makers came together at the Cities of Learning Youth Forum in Magdeburg (Germany) in July 2022 collaborating to create and confirm policy recommendations.

Story from the study visit to the entrepreneurial oasis (The Netherlands)👇

Our partners visited Stichting Rotterdam Kookt – a social enterprise that originated from a community of ideas in response to the increasingly individualistic approach to people and society 🤜🤛 Rotterdam Kookt does this in concrete terms by helping Rotterdammers who are not connected to the labour market to develop in the hospitality industry and asks for a social commitment in return.

🍚 Rotterdam Kookt sees cooking as a means to achieve social goals. And at the same time, it also offers a solution for the shortage of catering staff.
