Release Party Scheduled for Anthology!

Join us on the river with your family and friends!

Dear friend,

We are thrilled to announce that our gorgeous 2022 Anthology, (a) river rising: RIVERS and OCEANS edition, will be released “down by the riverside” on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m.! Let's get together to celebrate!

Meet you on the river at the Winston Family YMCA!

Meet us at the Winston Family YMCA, in the rear of the building overlooking the river and the Jackson Street dock, to pick up your copy (and more copies!) between 11 a.m.and 1 p.m., with speakers and the program starting at 12 noon on the riverfront. Learn the truths of others’ lives in stories and poems and art.

Community ReadAround at 12 noon

Just after the speakers at 12, we will hold a Community ReadAround so that EVERYONE will have a chance to read their work out loud, discuss their art, or appreciate someone else's words and share how they moved them.

Join us for a special river cruise after the party

Finally, from 1:30 to 2:30, join us for a special Downtown Sightseeing Cruise on the river with the St. Johns River Taxi! Learn more about the river and listen to several of our writers read during this one-hour tour.

Honoring 88 voices and visions of Jacksonville

Congratulations to the 88 writers and artists whose work is featured in this beautiful book. Please bring your family and friends to celebrate this moment with you, a culmination of your own personal work, plus many years of Women Writing for (a) Change Jax writers in community, six years of showcasing women's art, and four years of operating as a non-profit so we can make the power of writing more accessible to all.

Please RSVP...and bring your friends!

Please RSVP to let us know you’re coming. We hope to see you and your fans at this fabulous community-building event. Thank you for the honor of showcasing your work in this way—and thank you to our amazing Anthology team, led by managing editor Chiqui Chua, for making it possible! REGISTER HERE.

SUPPORT OUR WORK

Become a Golden Quill Member

Please consider joining our Golden Quill Circle of Supporters with a $100 donation. You’ll receive two copies of the Anthology as well as make it possible for us to continue publishing this important opportunity to document our community’s work. Thanks so much to our first 2022 Golden Quill supporter,  Gillian Ticehurst, as well as individual sponsors Jim Schwartz and Trisha Meili, Shirley Webb, and Sharon Simmons. With all the book bans today, the value of a free press for women and other marginalized voices cannot be understated!

And there’s more...

Join us for our last event of the year on Sunday, Dec. 11

Join the writers from our fall semester focusing on JUSTICE at our Fall Public ReadAround on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 3-5 p.m., followed by a singalong of your favorite justice songs (or any song)! WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO LATELY

Banned Books and JaxByJax circles

We love joining up with community partners!

We loved being a part of the JaxByJax Literary Festival and facilitating the ”This Is Jacksonville” writing circle at The Jessie Downtown on Sat., Oct. 29.
And we felt great about celebrating books and the freedom to read at a Banned Books Circle on Sat., Nov. 12, collaborating with FemmeFire Books and Cultivate Jax.
