Staff Spot Light

Meet Jon, who is the Clearview Guest Teacher. He has always enjoyed being part of the Clearview Community, and he loves being part of the learning community where his own children attend school.

Jon and his family enjoy traveling around the world that allows his family to be immersed in different cultures, languages and people. This is one of the reasons why he was inspired to have his children be part of the Spanish Immersion Program. Spain is one of his favorite places he has traveled.

An interesting fact about Jon is that he has Skydived twice in his life, and one thing that brings him joy is when student’s have a smile on their face.

What Are We Learning

K	We are practicing foundational letter skills each day: identifying letter names and sounds, and writing letters each day. Students are enjoying reading a variety of texts together as a class and on their own during reading time.	We are working on counting, writing and identifying numbers 1-20.	We have been talking about what it means to be a good friend and practicing following class and school rules
1	Reading decodable readers. Working on phonetic writing. Current week is about friendship.	Subtraction to 10	Science - rocks, Social Studies - citizenship
2	Reading: Our unit is about how families work together. Learning about non fiction books and the different parts that you differentiate from a fiction.	We are working on number patterns and repeated addition.	Science- Plants and Animals Life Science Social studies, Demonstrate voting skills, identify rules.

Fun(d)- A-Thon

We are excited to share a new spin on our school Walk-a-thon. This is a joint fundraiser between Clearview Elementary and our Clearview PTA. The more money the students raise the more fun opportunities they will have throughout the day on Wednesday, November 23rd. Student fundraising pages will be available starting next week, watch for information through classroom Seesaw pages.

Weekly Update:

50 students have set up their Fundraising pages
Clearview has received donations from 11 different states
Classrooms are working towards prizes for classroom participation, any donation amount counts towards student participation percent.
7 Staff have volunteered to be slimed if students reach the $25,000 mark.
